This series will introduce you to a member of team Exacta every month, so you can meet the dedicated hardworking team that has made Exacta what it is today. Our fifth instalment of the series introduces you to Leah Ricketts our Procurement Specialist. Leah started at Exacta in the summer of 2021, working in purchasing means Leah works closely with our logistics and production teams to ensure we have the stock to build our high-performance technology.
How long have you been at Exacta and tell us about your job role?
I have worked at Exacta now for just over a year, first starting as a Purchasing Assistant to now running the department with the help of the many knowledgeable colleagues I have here.
What do you enjoy most about working at Exacta?
Here at Exacta, no day is ever the same, from chasing suppliers to raising orders, my knowledge and skill set is consistently growing. Having a background in healthcare meant that when I first joined Exacta it was a shock to the system! It has been a busy year and I have really enjoyed learning something new every single day.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I am very family orientated and I love spending time with my family and my boyfriend. I am lucky to have 6 brothers and sisters, seeing them all grow up is lovely. I also have a beautiful Bengal cat, I love her to bits and enjoy spoiling her rotten!
What advice would you give to younger generations who aspire to work in the STEM industry/ want the same job role as you?
To be honest it can be very daunting at first, especially when you have no technical knowledge. That being said my advice would be to keep at it, don’t give up & always keep an open mind, as you never know where it could take you!
