How long have you been at Exacta and tell us about your job role?
I have been at Exacta for just over three years now, I started as a Junior Marketing Executive then at the start of 2022 I became Marketing Manager. When I first started at Exacta there was no one else doing marketing, so I had a blank canvas. This was amazing as it meant I could create the marketing strategy and content from scratch. Three years on my role now is to manage our marketing and digital marketing strategy, create campaigns with partners, resellers, and software houses, organise and execute events, maintain and evolve the 4 company websites and ultimately grow the business through the power of marketing.
What do you enjoy most about working at Exacta?
Well, it is hard to pick just one, but it has to be the pace and challenges of my job, one day I’ll be planning an event in London, then executing an event in NYC, then back to the office meeting with Intel or at my desk planning campaigns & creating content. Everyday is different and I have experienced so much in just three years. I also enjoy working with the team we have here at Exacta, I laugh at least once a day and when I am feeling stressed it’s reassuring to know that you are surrounded by fun and enthusiastic people.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy days out, which can vary from walking around Bath having lunch in a cafe and shopping or bigger days out like a trip to the Zoo or exploring new towns and cities. I also enjoy walking my dogs with my family, baking, reading, and watching films and series with my partner.
What advice would you give to younger generations who aspire to work in the STEM industry/want the same job role as you?
Interestingly I never actually imagined working in the tech industry, my previous job was in so many ways the complete opposite to this! My advice would be to remain open-minded when applying for jobs, life is what you make it and if you try your hardest, learn from those around you and believe you can do it, you’ll succeed.
What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?
Haha, can I take my partner? I definitely wouldn’t survive on my own. I guess I would take water, a tree tent, and some snacks.
What are 3 characteristics that best describe you as a person?
Caring, Cheerful & Creative.
