This series will introduce you to a member of team Exacta every month, so you can meet the dedicated hardworking team that has made Exacta what it is today. Our twenty-second instalment of the series introduces you to Scott Phillips. Scott began working at Exacta in 2022. Scott is a Support Team Lead; this means that he ensures that customers receive timely and effective assistance, as well as giving support to colleagues.
How long have you been at Exacta and tell us about your job role?
I've been Exacta for about a year and a half now. My job role is Support Team Lead, so I deal with all the RMA queries, communicating with customers to help diagnose issues, as well as supervising my colleagues within the support team.
What do you enjoy most about working at Exacta?
Every day is completely different. Every customer is completely unique with their own needs and requests. It’s always fun to discover and create new solutions for customers.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, we like going on long walks together. I do like playing video games on the odd occasion as well.
What advice would you give to younger generations who aspire to work in the STEM industry/want the same job role as you?
Always look for the reasons why. Take time to discover the small things that create the bigger picture. Sometimes you have to work backwards to understand things better. Never be afraid to ask questions.
What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?
Umm, a GPS tracker, a year’s supply of food, and possibly a bat!
If you could teleport anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?
I would say Japan. Just because I’d like to experience the hustle and bustle of the bigger cities. I also find the country's advancements amazing!
What are 3 characteristics that best describe you as a person?
I would say that I’m laid back, funny, even though others might not agree! And approachable.
