This series will introduce you to a member of team Exacta every month, so you can meet the dedicated hardworking team that has made Exacta what it is today. Our thirteenth instalment of the series introduces you to Megan Coomber. Megan began working at Exacta in 2016. Megan is a Senior Administrator/Blackcore Sales Support; this means that she is responsible for receiving and processing sales orders, as well as supporting the sales team with everything Blackcore.
How long have you been at Exacta and tell us about your job role?
I originally started here in 2016 and then left in 2020, as the location of the new office meant I would spend a lot of my time commuting. In July 2022 I applied to return to Exacta, as I was missing the team. My current role is Senior Administrator of Blackcore Sales Support, this means I assist with RMA’s, I help the sales team with quotes, and I also arrange shipping and logistics.
What do you enjoy most about working at Exacta?
No day is the same, there’s always something different to do! Everyday there is a new challenge, so it keeps your mind active. I also like the people, everyone here is really fun and friendly.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy cross-stitching and love to read books in my spare time.
What advice would you give to younger generations who aspire to work in the STEM industry/want the same job role as you?
I’d tell them to go for it! Don’t be daunted by the technical side of it, because when I first started, I’d never had an administration job before or worked for a tech company. You can easily pick things up on the job, don’t be intimidated by it all!
What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?
My mobile phone probably, my husband because he’s a good cook, I’d like someone to cook for me! And a boat.
What are 3 characteristics that best describe you as a person?
Outgoing, friendly, and down-to-earth.
