International Women’s Day 2024

It is no secret that women are underrepresented in the world of technology. Even with advances in bias awareness and gender equality training at work, women still represent a small fraction of the tech workforce. According to statistics, as of 2023, women hold 26.70% of technology jobs. Notably, compared to entry-level roles, higher-up roles (such as CTOs or Heads of Engineering) have an even lower representation of women (Hubbert, J. (2023).

It has also been reported that 48% of women in STEM and tech jobs report some form of discrimination in the recruitment or hiring process. Furthermore, women are 22% more likely than men to report experiencing "imposter syndrome" in tech and STEM professions (Hubbert, J. (2023). These statistics are disheartening, it is no secret that the tech industry needs to do better. Talented women deserve the opportunity to flourish in their roles, at Exacta women are encouraged to create careers. We have hired women from entry level, who have carved their path to Team Leader and Department Manager roles.

International Women’s Day and 2024’s Theme:

Marked annually on March 8^th, International Women's Day is a global day dedicated to honouring the social, economic, cultural, and political accomplishments of women. This day also serves as a powerful reminder to actively work towards achieving gender parity, prompting significant global initiatives. Communities have been uniting to applaud women's achievements and advocate for equality on this day since 1911.

The International Women's Day 2024 campaign theme is ‘Inspire Inclusion’. Inspire Inclusion involves encouraging others to understand and value women’s inclusion. When women are motivated to be included there’s a sense of belonging, importance, and empowerment. The 2024 #InspireInclusion campaign aims to cooperatively forge a more inclusive world for women.
