In mid-October, an amazing trip kicked-off as Reece, an Assembly Engineer at Exacta, set out with an amazing group of kids on an exciting trip from Bristol to Bordeaux, all made possible by the wonderful team at Community of Purpose CIC. Founded in 2016, this award-winning social enterprise transforms the lives of young people by creating opportunities that help them reach their potential. Through impactful programs, such as the Bristol Together Championships, they promote inclusivity and enhance community cohesion. Here’s a glimpse into their fantastic three-day Bordeaux adventure:
Day 1: A Grand Welcome in Bordeaux
Upon arriving in the picturesque city of Bordeaux, the air was buzzing with excitement. The group received a warm welcome at Bordeaux City Hall, marking the perfect beginning to their French adventure. A leisurely walk brought them to the iconic Miroir d'eau, a stunning water mirror that reflects the city's beautiful architecture. The elegance of Bordeaux's historical landmarks left everyone in awe, adding a sprinkle of magic to their trip right from the start.
Day 2: Friends and Football
Day two began with thrilling football matches against the local Chantecler Football Club. The kids eagerly jumped into the games. After the fun on the pitch, they headed to the Matmut Atlantique Stadium to watch a professional match featuring FC Girondins de Bordeaux vs US Avranches. The electrifying atmosphere and cheers from the crowd made this experience a standout highlight of their adventure!
Day 3: Farewell Fun at Go Ape
On day 3, this incredible trip was coming to a close, but not without one last adventure! On their final day, the kids explored Go Ape, a thrilling treetop adventure park where they zipped through the air and tackled exciting climbing courses. After a day filled with laughter and exhilaration, it was time to pack up and say goodbye to Bordeaux, carrying cherished memories and new friendships with them.
A Massive Thank You!
This amazing experience wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of Community of Purpose, whose support allowed these kids to embark on such an extraordinary trip. We’re incredibly grateful to all the other sponsors and supporters who made this adventure possible. A special shoutout also goes to Reece from the Exacta team for generously volunteering his time and making this journey memorable for everyone involved.
Community of Purpose CEO, Amy Kington, also wanted to share her thanks: “A huge thank you to Nick Rogers and all the team at Exacta Technologies who refereed fixtures at the Purposeful Play-Offs. Reece was a big supporter on the day, and we were thrilled to learn that he had been chosen to represent the company in Bordeaux. This important and impactful programme would not be possible if it weren’t for the investment of time, money, and purposeful people from Exacta Technologies. Thank you to everyone who did their bit and played their part in making this year’s programme the best to date.”
