This series will introduce you to a member of team Exacta every month, so you can meet the dedicated hardworking team that has made Exacta what it is today. Our twenty-sixth instalment of the series introduces you to Ben. Ben began working at Exacta in August 2022. Ben is a Procurement Specialist; this means that he oversees the orders of supplies and products, manages vendor relationships and sources suppliers.
How long have you been at Exacta and tell us about your job role?
I started at Exacta in August 2022, so it's almost been two years. I work in Purchasing specifically managing the Blackcore side of Exacta Technologies orders and deliveries.
What do you enjoy most about working at Exacta?
It’s always great learning about new products and being part of Exacta as it constantly evolves, and of course the people. I know that sounds quite cliché but it’s true!
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I have a 4-year-old daughter so we’re always going out, we like going for walks and going to different kinds of events. I’m also a massive sports fan, I like watching most sports, usually Football or NBA when I get the chance.
What advice would you give to younger generations who aspire to work in the STEM industry/want the same job role as you?
I would work towards a relevant degree and work your way up because the STEM industry is constantly growing. Don’t be afraid of being too old or too young, if you have skills and passion, then aim high!
What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?
A year's food supply, a dog or some kind of company, and my laptop. It probably wouldn’t last very long though.
If you could teleport anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?
Either Japan or Australia. I think they’re both really interesting. I’ve never visited either of them but would like to in the future. Japan just looks amazing, and I’ve heard really good things about Australia.
If you could meet any celebrity, who would you choose and why?
I'd like to meet either Jose Mourinho, a previous manager of the football team I support or John Terry, my favourite ex-player.
What are 3 characteristics that best describe you as a person?
Caring, generous and dedicated.
