This series will introduce you to a member of team Exacta every month, so you can meet the dedicated hardworking team that has made Exacta what it is today. Our twenty-eighth installment of the series introduces you to Alex. Alex began working at Exacta in November 2023, as a Support Technician; this means that he is part of our support team. The team works with clients to identify and resolve any issues that arise, they also provide excellent technical support to our clients.
How long have you been at Exacta and tell us about your job role?
I’ve been at Exacta for 8 months and I’m a part of the support team at Exacta. Our team communicates with clients during the setup process so that if they face any issues, we can work together to make sure they are resolved.
What do you enjoy most about working at Exacta?
The team here is great, it’s very easy to get along with everyone, and we also do activities together outside of work. It’s such a nice environment to work in when you’re looking forward to seeing your colleagues every day.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Spending time with my friends is my number one thing, that’s what refreshes me. I also enjoy songwriting and music producing as well, that is one of my biggest hobbies.
What advice would you give to younger generations who aspire to work in the STEM industry/want the same job role as you?
Don’t be afraid to reach out to companies to get free experience. Don’t worry about getting paid at the start, voluntary work is a great way in. You’d be surprised by how many companies will invite people to come in for a day and see what it’s like. It also looks great on your CV.
What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?
My bible, my guitar, and probably a 24-pack of Pepsi Max haha!
What are 3 characteristics that best describe you as a person?
I’d say I am easy-going, calm, and comforting.
If you could meet any celebrity, who would you choose and why?
Someone like Lewis Capaldi. He seems really down to earth, and I’d love to ask him about his music.
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I’d choose a steak all day. Medium rare, anything more than medium and it's ruined.
