This series will introduce you to a member of team Exacta every month, so you can meet the dedicated hardworking team that has made Exacta what it is today. Our twenty-ninth instalment of the series introduces you to Wayne Cullinane. Wayne began working at Exacta in 2022. Wayne works in the Product Design and Printing department; he is responsible for UV printing, and contributes to the design of our client's hardware.
How long have you been at Exacta and tell us about your job role?
I’ve been at Exacta for just over two years, and I am responsible for operating the UV printer in our printing studio. I also print stickers and general branding onto the hardware that we produce.
What do you enjoy most about working at Exacta?
It’s got to be the people! We have a great team here. I’ve met some lovely people. I’m a bit older than a lot of the team but I fit in well and enjoy how well everyone gets along.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
We have dogs and enjoy going for walks. I play the mandolin and I have a drone which I like to fly. I’ve also got a printing business that I spend a lot of my evenings and weekends with.
What advice would you give to younger generations who aspire to work in the STEM industry/want the same job role as you?
I would just say to just go for it. I’ve been doing this sort of work for the last thirty years and I’m still really enjoying it!
What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?
A how-to-build-a-boat handbook, tools, and a boat because I’m not very good at building!
If you could meet any celebrity, who would you choose?
Rik Mayall. He’s no longer with us but he was one of my comedy heroes back in the 80s.
If you could time travel, where is the first place you would go?
I’d go back to 1978, Christmas time. You don’t get Christmases like that anymore.
What are 3 characteristics that best describe you as a person?
Friendly, good sense of humour, and thoughtful.
