From start-up to stand-out in 25 short years.
Exacta Technologies started with a big idea and a storage unit in Bristol. No investors, no fancy office, just a passion for building high-performance, custom hardware and a belief that great software deserves an equally great foundation. Since then, we’ve grown a lot, but that original spirit is still what drives us. From farms to state-of-the-art facilities, big moves to bigger ambitions, this is the journey that’s shaped who we are today and it’s only just getting started.
2001 – The beginning
Picture this: Nick Rogers, a big idea, and a tiny self-storage unit in Bristol. That’s how Exacta Technologies came to life back in 2001. From the start, it was all about custom-built, high-performance hardware. We outgrew the storage unit fast, moving to a farm at Swallows Lodge – because why not start a tech revolution surrounded by the Somerset countryside?
2006 – Ubley: A new chapter
Fast-forward to 2006, and it was time for an upgrade. Enter The Sawmill in Ubley – our home for the next 14 years. It wasn’t just a move; it was a major growth spurt. Bigger projects, a stronger team, and an unwavering focus on creating amazing tech.
2010 – Scaling up
By 2010, the secret was out. Exacta had become the name to know for bespoke hardware, and our growing reputation fuelled impressive expansion. We welcomed new talent, sharpened our technical expertise, and took on larger, more ambitious projects than ever before.
2020 – A fresh start
March 2020: a bittersweet farewell to the picturesque Chew Valley and hello to our shiny new HQ – a custom-built, state-of-the-art 20,000 sq. ft facility in Emersons Green, Bristol. Sure, we missed the old place, but the new space brought us endless possibilities, a boosted team, and room to dream even bigger.
2023 – Giving back
2023 was all about giving back. We hosted our first-ever charity golf day and have since raised an astonishing £36,400 for Grief Encounter, a charity close to our hearts, supporting children with the loss of a loved one. Let’s just say our golf skills may be a “work in progress,” but our commitment to helping others? That’s spot on.
2024 – Community impact
In 2024, we reached another milestone by partnering with Community of Purpose CIC. We helped take on challenges like holiday hunger and brought local youth together through football by sponsoring initiatives like the Bristol Together Championships. Making an impact beyond the tech world? That’s something we’re incredibly proud of.
2026 - The journey continues
What’s next? The story’s still being written, but one thing’s for sure – we’re just getting started.
